DEVELOP’s ineo+ 353 improves document workflow

Langenhagen, October 2007. Colour printers are ten a penny. But printing alone is only part of the document production workflow in an office environment. Before investing in a “colour printer”, it is advisable to look into the cost of black and white printing, the professionalism of the printing, copying, faxing and scanning functions and the bene-fits the device brings to office communications and networking. The brand-new ineo+ 353 from DEVELOP is designed to improve the efficiency of the document workflow and boost productivity in document production – an area where many firms have little control over costs.

Patrick Klaus, the ineo+ 353 Product Manager, sees concrete benefits from investing in an ineo+ 353: “The 35-ppm ineo+ 353 proves that top-quality office colour need not be expensive and a multifunctional colour device really can produce black and white prints economically. Although multifunctional, this device is anything but mediocre in its functionality. It satisfies professional standards in printing, copying, scanning and faxing as well as offering convenient office communications and networking functions. All that will improve the productivity of the document production process.”

Outstanding colour, economical b/w

The ultra-fine and extremely smooth particles of the polymerised HD (high-density) toner used in the ineo+ 353 ensure outstanding image quality in colour or black and white. The result is crisp, clear text and brilliant photos with faithfully reproduced colours. This naturally increases the impact of mailings, brochures, banners or any other business communications where col-our is used to highlight messages. The optional Fiery controller available for the ineo+ 353 is equipped with a wide range of colour management tools that facilitate the printing of graphics-rich documents. Such strength in colour might lead you to expect that ineo+ 353 cannot com-plete with conventional monochrome machines in printing black and white documents. Rather surprisingly, though, this multifunctional colour device actually delivers black and white output at much the same cost as the monochrome competition – a telling argument for investing in top-quality colour.

Boost to productivity

One of the key factors in assessing the productivity of the document production process is the time users have to spend actually printing, copying, scanning or faxing. Here, the ineo+ 353 can point to a range of convenient features that save time at every stage in the document workflow. The large touch panel, a tiltable, swivelling 8.5-inch screen, is easy to navigate and supplies all the key information at a glance. Scanned documents can be sent back to a user’s PC as e-mail attachments ready for immediate use or sent to any of up to 1,000 user boxes as a multipage PDF, JPG or TIFF. The ineo+ 353 prints as many pages in duplex as it does in simplex mode, which not only saves time but also cuts paper consumption. Besides, this du-plex capability is available for media of up to 256 g/m2. When it comes to finishing documents, the ineo+ 353 also offers many timesaving options, e.g. automatic booklet making (up to 60 pages), stapled or punched reports and banners of up to 1.2 m in length. Although equipped with a wide range of sophisticated functions, the ineo+ 353 is simple to operate – probably the most important advantage for the average office user.

Smart user features

Another significant advantage of the ineo+ 353 is evident when you test it in operation. The user boxes (basically storage space on the system’s hard disk) can be set up for individual group or public use with flexible access rights and password authentication. This not only simplifies and professionalizes information storage and management within a company, it also brings everyday benefits to office users. For example, they can store repeatedly used forms, applications, table and the like in their own box, preview or shift documents from box to box, print them confidentially at the ineo+ 353 or store a day’s documents ready for printing all at once. The browser-based WebConnection utility facilitates device monitoring and allows users to call up device status information on their screen, check paper and toner levels, control and change device settings, and much more. Biometric finger-vein authentication or the non-contact IC-based alternative ensure convenient and secure access to the device. Last but not least, the high level of data security offered by the ineo+ 353 is a reassuring feature in these sensitive times. Secure printing, PDF encryption, encrypted communication (SSL) for confi-dential data and encrypted data storage on the hard disk are just some of the options.

Efficient networking

A multifunctional office device as powerful as the ineo+ 353 will normally be integrated into a network. Fortunately for the administrator, this device comes with a whole host of administra-tion tools that help to automate set-up procedures, streamline network integration, provide reliable status monitoring and allow efficient device management. The system also allows administrators to limit access rights, e.g. for colour printing, which is an effective means of controlling output on a day-to-day basis and cutting document production costs. The effective security and encryption functions ensure confidential data stay that way – and the network administrator can sleep more easily at night.

All in all, the ineo+ 353 from DEVELOP looks like a sensible investment for any business wanting quality colour printing, economical black and white output, and a greater degree of professionalism in its document production process.
