More functional

The 162F offers all the printing, copying, scanning and faxing functions a small or home office needs. What’s more, its compact dimensions and low-noise operation make it a true desktop model. Besides these standard office document production functions, the D162F also has many features only normally found in bigger machines – for example, a 50-page slit-feed automatic document feeder (ADF) and a manual bypass (A6-A4) for envelopes, OHP and thick paper of up to 162 g/m2. Users can print straight from a USB stick, fax to a USB stick and scan to a USB stick or an e-mail. Other useful fax features include PC fax, password-protected reception and transmission and fax rerouting to a different fax number – useful when away from the office. The 8MB fax reception memory is enough for up to 500 sheets. Last but not least, the D162F can scan in full colour, greyscales or b&w via the platen glass or ADF. All these features facilitate the processing of documents in a small office.

The D 162F is well suited to home or small office workers who want to keep their overheads low. Printing, copying, scanning and faxing from a single device means one set of consumables, not four, and that reduces running costs. Moreover, optional features such as network printing ensure that this multifunctional device can be upgraded to keep pace with a growing business.

More practical

The D162F is easy to use thanks to a clearly arranged, intuitive operating panel and a real QWERTY keyboard. An all-in-one toner and drum cartridge means it is also easy to service. Thanks to an ultra-compact design the D 162F takes up little space on a desk and the wireless printing option via a WLAN dongle ensures there are no annoying cables to clutter up the desk, either. The D 162F comes with two software packages: a Companion Suite Pro LL, which includes functions such as parameter and address-book setup, consumer and counter monitoring, and auto installation of the print and scan driver; and PaperPort SE, which offers basic OCR support and document management functions.

For the many home office users such as salespeople who require more than a basic printer the DEVELOP 162F is an attractive proposition.
