Redefining monochrome A4 printing

(DEVELOP ineo 36/42: optional A3, stapling and reassuring security)

Langenhagen, December 2011. The ineo 36/42 from DEVELOP moves beyond the norm in monochrome A4 printing with an A3 printing option, a sophisticated stapling function and reassuring security features. Since black-and-white A4 documents account for the lion's share of print output in most office environments, the ineo 36/42 is just the device they need.

"Monochrome systems are so popular because they are reliable, long-lasting and economical," says Barbara Plumeyer, the ineo 36/42 product manager. "Whereas our new monochrome print system certainly fulfils all those requirements, it is really designed for office users who want more than a standard office solution. We've redefined monochrome A4 printing to bring in some extremely useful 'out-of-the-box' features."

A3 option

Although most office printing involves black-and-white A4 documents, A3 can be extremely useful, e.g. for Excel tables. Unfortunately, the decision on whether to buy an A4 or an A3 printer usually had to be taken before the printer was purchased – up to now. The ineo 36/42, in contrast, comes with an A3 option allowing to print A3 formats via the bypass.

Finishing function

Office users who frequently have to prepare handouts of Excel tables, presentations or other documents for internal or external meetings will appreciate the optional finishing unit that staples documents either in the top left-hand corner or twice on the left-hand margin. That not only produces neatly finished documents but also saves time and effort.

Data security

With hackers increasingly targeting the corporate sector, data security is an issue businesses have to take seriously. How to protect sensitive data? The ineo 36/42 comes with a number of security features that ensure this print system is not the weakest link in a corporate data security network. The hard disk is encrypted to provide safe protection against unauthorised access and allow sensitive data to be overwritten several times in different modes. A secure printing function ensures documents are not produced before the author authorises printing through a 4-digit PIN code. Moreover, access to this multifunctional device can also be restricted to authorised users via a contactless RF card or password.

Software solutions

The days of stand-alone print systems in office environments are well and truly over. The ineo 36/42 not only comes with network capability, it can also be enhanced by a number of proprietary software tools to improve the efficiency of document workflows. convert+share, for example, enables documents to be scanned as .docx or searchable PDF files and shared with multiple users. It also features a barcode separation function that allows all incoming mail to be scanned in one go before automatically separating the scanned documents. Other software tools are also available from DEVELOP on request.

What more can be said about the multifunctional ineo 36/42? 36 or 42 A4 pages per minute; copying, scanning and optional faxing functionality; colour scanning capability; an easy-to-use colour touchscreen display: all more or less standard features of an office device in this segment. What makes this newcomer really interesting are its non-standard A3, finishing and security capabilities.
