DEVELOP launches b/w ineo 361/421/501: Breaking with the monotony of monochrome printing

Langenhagen, July 2008. Most monochrome office machines look and perform in a monotonously similar manner. So when a new series of mid-range office machines not only looks different but also claims to have distinguishing features, it is worth taking a closer look. A detailed analysis of the ineo 361/421/501 series from DEVELOP shows that these machines really do stand out from the crowd.

Performance power
The new ineo series is made up of three machines that, apart from their ppm performance, are otherwise identical. The ineo 361 prints and copies at 36 A4 pages per minute, the ineo 421 at 42 ppm and the ineo 501 at 50 ppm. The respective A3 figures are 23 ppm, 23 ppm and 27 ppm. The scanning speed of up to 70 originals per minute is also worth mentioning. Since an optional high-performance fax kit is available as well, the new ineo series from DEVELOP can genuinely claim to offer the kind of performance a modern office needs, especially as same-speed duplex printing is a standard feature. The machines are designed for departmental or work group use and since the hardware is well and truly tried and tested, users can be certain of a stable performance throughout the designated long service life of the machines.

High-quality output
Even when the ineo 501 is printing at 50 ppm, you never feel it is compromising on quality for the sake of quantity. The state-of-the-art polymerised toner used in all three machines delivers crisp output, better folding qualities, improved UV resistance (important, for example, when printing posters or shop-window signs) and a high degree of media flexibility thanks to a lower fusing temperature.

State-of-the-art scanning and archiving
These office machines are not only fast scanners, they also offer a number of sophisticated scanning functions. For example, a scanned document can be transmitted to any e-mail address, networked recipient, the user’s own PC or a user box. A maximum scanning speed of 70 opm at 300 dpi makes these machines an ideal solution for digitising office documents such as invoices or customer records.

User-friendly finishing
Numerous optional inline finishing functions bring a boost to productivity in the document production process. Offices can choose between options such as mail-bin sorting, offsetting, stapling of up to 50 sheets, 4-hole punching, grouping and production of entire booklets with numbered pages and the date. The bottom line is significant savings in the time and effort required to produce ready-to-use reports, presentations and the like.

Reassuring document security
The new office series from DEVELOP comes with a wide range of security features, some standard, others optional. Encrypted PDF printing and scanning, SSL encryption and an optional security chip for hard-disk encryption ensure confidential documents do not end up in the wrong hands. Access to as many as 1,000 user boxes can be password-protected and administrators can assign access privileges to individual users or work groups. Access can be limited to specific functions, for example, and up to 1,000 accounts are available for volume tracking and functional limitations. User authorisation may be card-based or dependent on highly secure biometric authorisation via the optional finger-vein scanner. Besides access limitation, these functions make it much easier to keep document production costs under control.

All in all, there is a great deal of substance to DEVELOP’s claim that their new series of ineo office machines breaks the monotony of monochrome printing.
